Kia ora! I’m Tracy and I draw inspiration for my designs from my love of weaving kete whakairo and kākahu, having learned with the Hetet School of Māori Art for a number of years.

I also draw inspiration from te reo Māori, the Māori language. I did not grow up learning te reo and have struggled to reclaim this learning. As a full-time post-graduate student with Te Pūtahi-a-Toi, Massey University, I have been gifted the opportunity to engage with te reo through research. My doctoral research explores the revitalisation of te reo Māori in Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural heritage institutions: libraries, archives and museums.
